WORKSHOPS

Term 4, 2011

Week 1, 14/10/2011, Code of Conduct / Rules
Objective: Players to have a good understanding of the Program (the workshop component, basketball, dinner and transport), the people involved (volunteers, tournament manager, youth worker) and to come up with their own rules / code of conduct to take ownership.

Week 2, 21/10/2011, Team Building
Objective: Players to learn the importance of team work.  Get to know each other.  Come up with team name.

Week 3, 28/10/2011, Hepatitis C Awareness and Prevention
Objective: To provide Players with a better understanding and awareness of hepatitis C. 
Facilitator:  Health Workers, Greater Western Area Health Service

Week 4, 4/11/2011, Safe Sex and Relationships
Objective: To provide a basic overview of how to develop healthy, respectfu and consensual sexual relationships.

Week 5, 11/11/2011, Cyber Bullying
Objective: To raise awareness of the different types of cyber bullying and help players to define and identify situations relating to cyber bullying.

Week 6, 18/11/2011, Good Food Choices
Objective: To increase awareness of the importance of a good diet and maintaining health.
Facilitator:  Dietician, Greater Western Area Health Services

Week 7, 25/11/2011, Holiday Activities
Objective: To promote connections to a range of activites in the school holidays.

Week 8, 2/12/2011, Player Evaluation / Questionnaire
Objective:  All players to complete survey provided by Midnight Basketball Australia for independent evaluation.
