TERM 4, 2009

Week 1, 9/10/09, Code of Conduct / Rules
Objective: Provide players with an overview of Midnight Basketball, how it runs, 'no workshop, no jumpshot', general housekeeping rules. Players to have a good understanding of the Program (the workshop component, basketball, dinner and transport), the people involved (volunteers, tournament manager, youth worker) and to come up with their own rules / code of conduct to take ownership.

Objective: Learn the importance of teamwork. Learn how to work together and respect each other. Team names.

Week 4, 30/10/09, Alcohol and How it Effects Your Body
Objective: Look at Alcohol and how it affects you. How much can you have to drive safely. Team Managers to use goggles to simulate how it affects your body.

Objective: What makes a safe driver. Look at road injuries and deaths. Gaining L’s to P’s to full licence.

Week 6, 13/11/09, Police - Driver Safety
Objective: What makes a safe driver. Look at road injuries and deaths. Requirements for L's, P's, full license.
Facilitator: Geelong police

Week 7, 20/11/09, Youth Depression and Suicide
Objective: Look at different mental health issues for youth. Identifying signs, how to get help, what to do if you expect a friend is suffering.

Week 8, 27/11/09, Player Questionnaire / Tournament Feedback.
Objective: All players to complete questionnaire provided by Midnight Basketball Australia for independent evaluation.
