TERM 3, 2011

Week 1, 29/7/2011, Code of Conduct / Rules
Objective: Players to have a good understanding of the Program (the workshop component, basketball, dinner and transport), the people involved (volunteers, tournament manager, youth worker) and to come up with their own rules / code of conduct to take ownership.

Objective: Learn how to work together and respect each other. Team names.

Week 3, 12/8/2011, Creativity Our Way
Objective: Learn how art can be a good emotional outlet. Will give the players the opportunity to express themselves constructively through art.

Week 4, 19/8/2011, Drug and Alcohol Abuse
Objective: To increase participants knowledge of the effects of drugs and alcohol.

Week 5, 9/9/2011, Apprenticeships and Internships
Objective: Players will be given opporunities to talk with a community worker who specialises in career and job placement for Indigenous within the community.

Objective: To educate participants on the consequences of sex, covering a variety of topics.

Objective: Highlight key behaviours and how they contribute to building and maintaining a healthy relationship.

Objective: All players to complete survey provided by Midnight Basketball Australia for independent evaluation by CIRCA Research for final tournament report.

Objective: Christine was injured early on in her life, and she has now become one of the top people in the community with regards to her job and also her work outside of school. She is a great motivational speaker and we hope the kids can understand that wheelchairs can affect your life but doesnt mean it has to be over, you can still pursure dreams and goals.
