TERM 4, 2011

Week 1, 15/10/2011, Code of Conduct / Rules
Objective: Players to have a good understanding of the Program (the workshop component, basketball, dinner and transport), the people involved (volunteers, tournament manager, youth worker) and to come up with their own rules / code of conduct to take ownership.

Week 2, 22/10/2011, Team Building
Objective: Learn how to co-operate effectively and respect one another, create team names and develop a positive rapport among peers.

Week 3, 29/10/2011, Basketball Skills
Objective: Players to learn from an international level basketball player about the skills of the game and have the concepts of teamwork reinforced.

Week 4, 12/11/2011, Creative Arts
Objective: Engage kids creative instincts and have them work together on a project in which they can be proud.

Week 5, 19/11/2011, CPR (How to save a life)
Objective: Engage the players with the benefits of knowing first aid and equip them with basic tools that could help them save a family member or friend.

Week 6, 26/11/2011, Cooking - Welcome to the kitchen
Objective: Familiarise the players with the kitchen and increase their comfort in making food. Help them realise that cooking can be easy and tasty and you don't have to buy take away to get a cheap and easy meal.

Week 7, 10/12/2011, Staying Free
Objective: Help the players see that making the right decisions is important to keeping them out of the prison system, and that prison is not a right-of-passage.

Objective: All players to complete survey provided by Midnight Basketball Australia for independent evaluation.

TERM 4, 2010

Week 1, 16/10/2010, Code of Conduct / Rules

Week 2, 23/10/2010, Goal Setting
Objective: Help players understand that anything is possible so long as you're moving forward.

Week 3, 30/10/2010, Nutrition
Objective: Cooking demonstrations (each showing preparation of 2 recipes) with discussion of the nutritional benefits of the ingredients utilised in the quick, easy and tasty meal ideas demonstrated. A few lucky attendees will be asked to join the facilitator on stage, providing an element of fun and interaction, in addition to quality nutrition education and healthy eating tips. All attendees receive recipe sheets to take away and practice at home!

Objective: To give the players a genuine understanding of the potential outcomes of falling foul of the law.

Objective: Help kids take their good behaviour at Midnight Basketball into the broader community.
