Term 3, 2011

Week 1, 5/8/2011, Code of Conduct / Rules of Midnight Basketball
Objective: Players to have a good understanding of the Program (the workshop component, basketball, dinner and transport), the people involved (volunteers, tournament manager, youth worker) and to come up with their own rules / code of conduct to take ownership.

Week 2, 12/8/2011, Team Building
Objective: Players learn to work together as a team by coming up with a team name.

Week 3, 19/8/2011, Nutririon And Cooking With Native Produce - Part 1
Objective: To teach participants the importance of healthy eating and the nutritional value of native produce.

Week 4, 26/8/2011, Nutririon And Cooking With Native Produce - Part 2
Objective: This workshop will carry on from Part 1, introducing different produce and nutritional information. It will also aim to strenghten cultural identity in players from an Indigenous background.

Week 5, 2/9/2011, Hip Hop Dance
Objective: Players learn the importance of warm up techniques, develop confidence, self esteem and teamwork through group and individual dance workshops.

Objective: Participants learn about the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

Week 7, 16/9/2011, CPR In A Box
Objective: Players to learn the skills to provide CPR and basic first aid to those in need.

Week 8, 23/9/2011, Player Evaluation / Survey
Objective:  All players to complete survey provided by Midnight Basketball Australia for independent evaluation.

Objective: Players are introduced into Midnight Basketball Australia and encouraged to bring their friends to the next session.

Objective: The aim of this workshop is to build mutual respect and understanding of Indigenous Australia through a fun and educational activity.

Objective: Young people understand the risks and issues associated with drug and alcohol and have the knowledge and skills to deal with them.

Objective: Young people have the knowledge and skills to manage minor injuries.

Week 6, 18/3/2011, CPR in a Box
Objective: To ensure CPR is a family / life skill.

Week 7, 25/3/2011, Review of Past Performance
Objective: Provide the players with positive feedback on previous weeks performances.
