Week 1, 19/02/2011, Code of Conduct / Skills & Drills
Objective: Players to have a good understanding of the Program (the workshop component, basketball, dinner and transport), the people involved (volunteers, tournament manager, youth worker) and to come up with their own rules / code of conduct to take ownership.

Objective: This program aims to provide strategies to enhance resilience and self-worth and coping mechanisms to counter the sense of powerlessness and isolation Indigenous Youth may experience.

Objective: Players to learn the importance of team work.  Get to know each other.  Come up with team name and learn how to work together as a team to solve problems.

Week 3, 06/11/2010, Drumming Workshop
Objective: The aims of this workshop include:- Learning to relax, learning to let go, learning to lead and to follow as necessary, learning to focus intensely at times and to just feel our way along at other times. Team work and trust.

Objective: Fitness assessment and importance of nutrition in sport. In groups assess individual fitness levels and discuss the role of nutrition in performance in sport.

Week 5, 20/11/2010, Elders Story Telling
Objective:  A number of local Aboriginal Elders will share their life stories, looking at culture, identity, respect and history. Players will get a greater understanding of culture and its historical perspecitive.  Importance of respect and self respect.

Objective:  Promote Health, Fitness and Wellbeing. Engage the kids in a fun and energetic exercise with Zumba.

Week 4, 05/03/2010, Aboriginal Elders Storytelling
Objective: A number of local Aboriginal Elders will share their life stories, looking at culture, and history.  In addition, an internationally acclaimed Didgeridoo player Mark Atkins, will speak with the kids about his journey and give a brief performance.  Players to have a greater understanding of aboriginal culture and its historical perspective.

Week 5, 12/03/2010, Fit Boxing
Objective:  Health and wellbeing.  Engage the players in a fun and energetic exercise with fitboxing.  Look at the links between lifestyle and general health and wellbing.

Outline: Relationship Board Game. Presented as a board game which groups of young people participate in  addressing issues of what constitutes a Healthy relationship, safety in relationships and strategies when dealing with violence in relationships.

Outline: Young people and the law. The Police YLO will deliver this workshop to help clarify issues  around rights and responsibilities with young people and the law and to break down some of the barriers surrounding youth and the Police.
